I am not sure of the fur adorning this Manchurian falconers hat is from, but it is very reminiscent of the hunting hat worn by the Mongolian Kazakh’s with whom I have hunted.
The Mongolians adorn their hunting hats with the pelts from the foxes they hunt with their eagles.
Over the centuries the Mongols and the Manchurians have made many alliances so it is no surprise that there is some shared culture. |
