Chinese Bike hawking

Here in a busy market one of the stallholders has parked his bike amongst others. The interesting think is the small perch mounted on the main frame with a hooded sparrow hawk happily preening its body feathers.

Probably on his way home the hawks owner would get a flight or two at sparrows along the sidewalks. It is amazing to watch a cyclist holding a sparrow hawk in the palm of his hand as he rides along the city streets. When he feels he is as close as he can get to his intended quarry, he throws the hawk like a dart towards the quarry.
