My guide warned me to be careful of the water in the Poyang Lake because there is a parasite in the water that burrows under your skin.
The locals must be immune to these parasites if they exist, as I past many women along the banks washing their families clothes. Sadly this is probably their only means of water and as you can see from the photograph it is not clean water and it is heavy in non bio degradable flotsam. |
