Chinese Saker Falcons used for falconry

Today we were not the only group working this vast area of farmland. Around midday we gathered together to swop stories and rest, these three TuHu’s had accounted for three hares which boosted our moral as we had only had the one slip this morning and that ended up the pole.

The hare population seemed thin and they had many square miles of farmland in which to hide. As in all forms of falconry, it is not the size of the bag but the enjoyment of being out in the bitterly fresh air walking over miles and miles of ploughed earth.
