Well here he is, my wonderful Kyrgyz mount. As you can see the saddle arrangement was a very comfortable affair. It was well appreciated I can tell you. Climbing and descending for most of the day can be very tiring on the crutch region when you are not use to this mode of transport.
I was thankful for as much padding as I could get especially after days and days in the saddle.
Horses rarely have names out here, so for some odd reason I called this chap “George”. He was sweet natured and very tolerant of me and took no offence at being named “George”, not that he should as none was intended. The name just seemed to fit him.
Daniyar my guide thought I was nuts naming my horse, but I felt I owed a lot to this horse for taking me over some wonderful rugged landscape. |
