Jack Oar with his female Golden Eagle. The right man with the right bird in the right place.
Many falconers dream about flying a golden eagle but few have the right experience or the right temperament and not many live in the ideal countryside.
Jack thought about an eagle for a long time before he went out in his back yard one morning and chased off a wild eagle that killed one of his chickens.
He put the dead chicken into a giant bal-chatri trap he had constructed and went back in the house to watch and wait. The eagle returned and snagged itself on the trap and Jack had his eagle.
No argument that she fitted the requirement on his licence to take a depredation eagle. |
