Turkeys are unknown in Mongolia, so when I flew over the mountains and into Kyrgyzstan I was surprised to see so many flocks of turkeys on most farmsteads.
They tasted good as well, we bought the odd one to take back to base camp for our even meal.
The evidence of small livestock in and around the farmsteads roaming freely and unguarded, showed that predator attacks were much less frequent here than in Mongolia. |
