| At last hawk and dog start to hunt together, it is very interesting how soon they both learn that each other is advantageous to the outcome of catching game. This is what I love about working a dog and hawk together in close cover, without the dog you would be lucky to find half the game and the hawk soon learns to watch and often follow the dog. The dog in its turn learns that it is there to serve the hawk, as these two refine their roles you see the bond start to grow as each plays out its part with enthusiasm. I on the other hand become more a mere spectator and mobile perch, and that is how it should be. |
